The Israelites are finally done with their miserable existence and years of hard work and hopelessness in Egypt. The grinding abuse they suffered as slaves is now in the rearview mirror. The Promised Land lies just ahead–acres and acres of rich agriculture and pastureland.
Twelve men are sent in to scout out the land and bring back a report on turf quality, water availability, food options, and security. Two contrasting reports are presented. The fear-filled, faithless majority report deceitfully wins the day, and for the next 40 years, the wilderness is littered with bodies.
