The Bible was written by God...
The Bible was written by God, creator and manager of the universe, to teach us about Him and about us and about our desperate need for Him. The Bible tells about real people and a real God and their interaction.
As I would read the Bible—journal and pen beside me—I wanted to be in the story—to hear the sounds, smell the smells, and imagine myself as part of the scene. The meditation style of St. Ignatius and the preaching of Chuck Swindoll and Max Lucado have freed me to do just that. Reading these incredible accounts, the scenes would come to life in my mind’s eye, and I’d capture in my journal what I “saw”—believing the Holy Spirit was busy in his job of leading me into truth.
I never planned for any audience to experience these journaled scenes except for sharing with some Navigator staff at training events. Good friends and colleagues who heard them-Billie Spiers, Karma Bradley, Sydney Ebel, Molly Gilberts, and Tyler and Brooke-told me that more people need to hear them. I didn’t pay much attention to their nudges until they mentioned how you and my grandkids might benefit. Then Tyler and his brother, Matt, worked hard to capture these devotionals on video. These friends nudged this project to fruition. I thank them.
May you see Christ in each and every one of these Bible events.
May God be honored as His stories are told.
